We are very excited to announce USATF-CT has chosen the 10K as their championship race. Find out more about it here: http://www.usatf-ct.org/.
As a result, registration for both the 10k and 5k will be capped at 100.
5K: A USATF sanctioned event with a challenging and scenic race through historic Barbour Woods in picturesque Norfolk, CT. The course is a mixture of single and double track. Climb up Beech Hill for a view of Haystack Mountain, run on carriage roads beside historic Kilarney Bridge, descend down the dry dam to a flat stretch of railroad bed, ascend through woodlands and finally along a gladed wetland (known as the "Swamp Trail") to the finish.
10K: This course begins on the same route as the 5K, but jumps off of the Sunset Trail onto the South Dam, crosses 272N and ascends through a grassy meadow onto an intense single track up Norfolk's iconic Haystack Mountain. The trail summits at the Haystack Tower, and descends down the mountainside on a carriage path where it meets up with a sinuous single track that winds along the mountain's contours and through stone walls. The course returns to the park's main entrance, crosses back over the South Dam and meets up with the final two miles of the 5k route to the finish.
