THE LAST LOOP - Come run the famous clay road one last time before paving of the road begins.
UPDATED JULY 1ST, 2021:
It is with heavy hearts, and legs, that we inform you that we just got word that the construction/paving of the clay road will begin sometime before the end of summer. They will be shutting down Schofield Road from Hwy 27 to Cook Road to straighten it and pave it. We do not have the details of the exact date of the closing and neither does Lake County at this time.
What we do know is that in order to run the race one more time, all around the loop, all clay, we have no option other than to move the race from the original date of October 31st to Sunday August 8th, 6:30 AM. THERE ARE NO REFUNDS AFTER THE CUTOFF DATE OF JULY 14TH
WE KNOW, IT WILL BE HOTTER THAN USUAL! We will have aid stations with ample ice & hydration at each mile. You have trusted us through many events and we promise that this last loop will be an unforgettable race!.
The event owner is South Lake Multisport Events, Inc a nonprofit created in order to raise awareness and money for running trails in south Lake County. Because of your love and support for the Clay Trail, we are hopeful that there will be a portion of 5 Mile Road that will be turned into a dedicated dirt trail in the future. This dirt trail will have no car traffic and will have amenities which we believe will create an even better endurance venue! Thanks to the volunteer efforts of everyone involved, we’ve raised nearly $90,000 year to date to put towards endurance venues in South Lake County.
