A chip-timed 5K with an exciting twist, Poker:)

Every registered runner will receive a T-shirt after they finish the 5k.

Everyone registered will receive a Large 2 Topping Free Pizza coupon

($12 dollar value at Il Primo) after they finish the 5k.

This is a Texas Holdem 5K event with the highest poker hand taking 15% of the proceeds after expenses and the one with
the worst poker hand taking 15% of the proceeds after expenses.
Yes, you are Timed. In the event of a poker hand tie, the fastest runner wins the hand.
No Medals.
The Winners of the poker hand need not be the fastest, just the luckiest. :)
You do NOT need to know how to play, you just need to pick up 3 cards as you run.

Social Distancing will be in place:
Start by running out of the park onto Estates Dr. Turn left on Taneytown Street then left on Coldspring Lane then Left on Pimlico Street then right on Estates Dr. back to the park to finish. 3.1 miles https://routes.rungoapp.com/route/zuV1FK6LKn
1. Rolling start: Runner will have a predetermined time to pickup there bib/chip.
Each runner starts every min over an hour period. Giving a few seconds between runners standing 6 ft apart &
Wear Masks when standing around others that are not 6 ft apart.
2. During the event: Runners would be spread out because of the start times.
Runners will be told to announce themselves from a long distance away before they pass another runner. Runners will pick a card from a table set out with Volunteers spraying the table and cards with disinfectant after each runner.
3. There will not be any aid stations, runners will be encouraged to carry their own sustenance.
4. Post-event: Runners are encouraged to wear Masks when not running!
Runners will place their cards on a table, CARDS WILL THEN BE STAPLED TOGETHER AND YOUR CHIP NUMBER WRITTEN ON THEM, then a volunteer will spray the table/cards with disinfectant after each runner. Runners will be encouraged to leave when finished with their run/cards. Any food/water will be prepackaged.
If you are a winner you will be notified and a check will be mailed. Winners will be announced on Runsignup.
5. The Myakkahatchee creek environmental park is an open area with plenty of space to social distance 50 people. If people do hang around we encourage all to place a face mask on & just stay 6ft apart if you are going to stay.
