A longtime road race held in this small town in northeast Indiana, the 41st running of the Parlor City Trot Half Marathon & 10K will take runners from the streets of downtown Bluffton on an out-and-back course to nearby Ouabache State Park and back for the finish.
The race is known for its welcoming, encouraging atmosphere among the few hundred or so runners who come out for the race each year (especially for newcomers to the town as well as first-time half-marathon participants). Most of the race course is run on paved surfaces and is largely fast and flat with a few rolling hills. The half-marathon course takes runners through Ouabache State Park as well as along a stretch of the Wabash River known as the Bluffton River Greenway Trail.
Participants start in downtown Bluffton, turn east on S.R 124, turn onto Elm Grove Road toward the state park, run roughly two and a half miles through Ouabache State Park and finish with an additional two and a half miles along the River Greenway Trail (which is accessible year-round to both cyclists and pedestrians) before returning back to downtown Bluffton for the finish line at Pickett's Run city park.
