Athletes of all ages can explore Eagle Creek Park, one of the nation’s largest city parks, via land and water alternating between trail runs and a canoe or kayak leg. The race starts at the beach and consists of a 2.5-mile trail run, 1.5-mile paddle, and 3.5-mile trail run back to the beach.
Participants have the choice to enter as an individual, 2-person or 3-person relay team. Competitors can bring their own kayak or canoe (with life jackets and paddles), or rent a boat in advance.
An after party will be held post-race at the Earth Discovery Center. 100% of proceeds benefit the Eagle Creek Park Foundation to support trail restoration projects, environmental education programs and park improvements.
Cost is $50 before June 1; $60 before July 14; $70 after July 14; $80 day of. Participants who register by June 19 receive a performance T-shirt in their size. Boat rentals available online ($20 single kayaks, $30 double kayaks/canoes); limited availability, and rental is additional to entry fee. Get $15 off race entry by becoming a member of the Foundation online.
7 a.m. boat drop-off; 8 a.m. check-in; 9 a.m. race starts.
