The Baker Arboretum is a beautiful setting to host the 5K Run for Clean Water in Kenya. Built on a ridge of rolling hills on the outskirts of Bowling Green, it covers over 115 acres and features many varieties of dogwood, magnolias and flowering trees, woven among a wide collection of conifers and Japanese Maples.
Enjoy the fall colors as you run or walk 5K on this beautiful property.
Funds will be used for several projects in Kapseret and Kesses, Kenya; to expand the existing gravity water supply to several schools, purchase and install a solar-powered water pump to reduce the cost of electricity, and to introduce drip irrigation on a number of acres at the school farms and villages to ensure a continuous food supply for thousands of people in this area.
The awards ceremony and runner's reception will be held at the Downing Museum, on site at the arboretum, immediately following the completion of the race. All runners and guests are invited for light refreshments.
