The Triathlon 101 Training Program is for any beginner who wants to complete a triathlon, but has no idea where to start!
Whether you’ve never felt comfortable in the water, haven’t ridden a bike since you were a kid, or just can’t get into the swing of running, we can help you work through your obstacles & get to the finish line!
This is a 10-week introduction to triathlon training program designed with the true beginner in mind. The program meets twice a week for 10 weeks to learn & practice the essentials needed to complete a sprint triathlon. Each session will focus on the swim, bike, or run, and you’ll be led by supportive & motivating coaches who are eager to share their experience & knowledge.
Participants will be given training plans based on their current fitness levels with 2-3 workouts to complete on their own. For practice sessions, we’ll break up into ability groups so that everyone is challenged appropriately. Each training session will include an informative talk or clinic, so you’ll feel confidence in your preparation going into race day. The program will conclude when you complete the first Sunrise Series Race on May 1st!
This program limited to 30 participants. Deadline to register is Monday, February 22.
Sunday, February 21- Orientation, 5:00 at Sportspectrum
Mondays and Wednesdays*, February 22-April 27- 6:00 Group Training, various locations
*Mondays will rotate between bike and run sessions
*Wednesdays will consist of swim sessions

• You should be able to do the following at the start of the program:
o Walk 1 mile comfortably
o Swim (any stroke) 25 yards (one length of a pool)
• Equipment
o A bike (ANY BIKE!) in good, working order.
o Helmet, free of cracks or defects
o Running Shoes,
o Swim Gear (Suit, Cap, Goggles)
• 6:00 pm at the designated locations
