Description

Our Heywood Healthy Harvest 5K Run/Walk for Mental Health is celebrating its 10th Anniversary on Saturday, October 29, 2022. We invite you to join our celebration!

We will again offer a Hybrid Format of on-site and in person or virtual participation. Participants may choose to run or walk either in-person or on their own as a virtual participant.

  • Virtual participants can choose their own start time (between 6AM - 6PM) to officially complete the 5k. (Not attending live event)
  • In-person participants may chose either the competitive (timed) or non-competitive options and will join us at Heywood Hospital to run/walk our official HH5K route.
  • Professional timing system for our race provided by Tri-State Racing Services.
  • All participants are strongly encouraged to adhere to CDC and DPH Covid-19 guidelines within either format.

Our event timeline is in development, however the simple outline below is reflective of our experiences:

  • Registration will open around 8:00am
  • 10th Anniversary Kickoff Ceremony at 9:00am
  • Feet Hit Pavement immediately following the ceremony
  • Usually, our timed runner awards/recognition is within the hour after the start of the run
  • Health Fair open to the community: 8am-11am

Our established 3.1 mile family-friendly scenic course is the official HH5K option, starting and ending at Heywood Hospital.  However, virtual participants can select any route they wish. 

Adult rate: $25. 

Youth registration (will appear within the Runner or Walker link) offers reduced fees: Ages 7-18 yrs are $15 & children 6 and under are free!

  • Virtual participants are encouraged to submit participation photos by emailing them to communityrelations@heywood.org, Subject: HH5K.  
  • Those who submit a photo wearing any previous HH5k shirt will be entered to win a prize!
  • Photos may be used on our Facebook page &/or on our website (by submitting photo you agree to this potential use).

All in-person runners and walkers will receive a Healthy Harvest 5K 10th Anniversary Celebration gift upon registration check in. Everyone is encouraged to wear past HH5K shirts to show your past support!

2022 HH5K Registration includes Timed & Not Timed Options:

General Participation (run/walk): Virtual - not attending live event                                                                                                                                                  General Participation (run/walk): In-person
Competitive Timed Runner: In-person 5K Run

*PLEASE NOTE: Registration is either GENERAL/NOT TIMED (Virtual or In-Person) or COMPETITIVE/TIMED (In-person run) CATEGORIES*

The top male & female winning race participants will be recognized.

AWARDS for Most Spirited Team and Largest Team will also be presented!

Proceeds from this year’s event will be directed towards resources to support the social and emotional health of our region’s school-aged youth, as they continue to face unprecedented challenges with the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Race Route

The Healthy Harvest 5K suggested route takes the runners along Heywood Hospital's wooded walking trail to a half way turnaround point at the end of Crystal Lake. The race begins and ends in the Heywood Hospital parking lot. However, participants can select any route they wish. For competitive participants, the route  must meet 5k (3.1M) criteria.
