SWIM: 100 meters in shallow water entering and exiting at the beach area. It is a shallow swim allowing for "touch down" if needed. Certified lifeguards will also be on hand along the course.
BIKE: 1 mile out and back, athletes will exit the park and do a short loop and turn around in the adjoining neighborhood.
RUN: .5 mile out and back run will consist of a mix of both grass and walking paths within the park.
Check-in will begin at 8 am. Please allow ample time to get checked in and have your child set up their belongings in the assigned transition area, as well as preview the course. At check-in you will be assigned a transition area, get your body markings done, and get any questions answered you may have.
The race will begin at 9 am and will consist of two waves. The first wave, at 9am, will be ages 10-14. Ages 5-9 will begin at 9:05. The distances are the same for both age groups for this year. We are doing a differed start time to both relieve some intimidation that younger athletes may feel and ensure safety for all participants.
Upon start of the race we will "close" the transition area. To ensure smooth transitions and the safety of our kid athletes, we request that only 1 adult accompany the athlete in the transition area, if needed.
Parents are welcome to run along side their athletes during the bike or run portion, if needed. However, for the safety of our athletes and the adults, we ask that parents do not bike any portion of the course.
