"Huh. Huh." You breathe steadily through your mouth. Sweat runs down your face. You're tired, but you keep running. "This is for a good cause," you think, as you maintain pace. For 1 race, you benefit 2 organizations: The Lansing Refugee Development Center, which provides educational and social support for refugees, and a rural clinic in Peru, which provides free cleft lip/palate operations to underserved children. "These are the reasons I'm running," you say, as you feel better, as a person. Suddenly, you see the finish line. You're surprised. "Oh! I guess five thousand miles really isn't that far," you erroneously muse to yourself. At the finish line, you recieve a free mug for signing up before May 18th. $15 to race, a chance to mingle with runners of all levels, AND a free mug? Wow. The Asian Pacific American Medical Student Association (APAMSA)'s Trot 4 Tots 5k walk/run was definitely worth the wait. You were glad to have participated.
If you are are interested in donating directly to the Refugee Development Center of Lansing and the rural Peruvian clinic, please visit http://www.gofundme.com/submbw for more information. Thank you for your support!
