TGIS 5K Run/Walk

About This Activity

Event details and schedule:

• Mark your calendars for this 5k Run/Walk at Wolf Lake Fish Hatchery. This race has been reviewed for the physical activity content and has been endorsed by the Governor's Council on Physical Fitness, Health and Sports.
• This race will be professionally chipped timed by Mac's Sports Timing.  A TGIS t-shirt is included in the price of registration as well as a swag bag.  T-shirts are only guaranteed for pre-registration participants.  5k finishers will receive a customized metal.  Snacks will also be provided at end of race which include muffins, fruit breads, fruit and beverages.
• 1 Mile Kids Fun Run will start immediately at 9:00 am.  5K Run/Walk will start at 9:30 am.  Please arrive 45 minutes early for non-registered participants and 30 minutes early for pre-registered participants.  Parents, no need to worry about your kids during the 5k run/walk.  Exercise assured your kids will be supervised while on the inflatables or visiting the Fish Hatchery.  

WEATHER:

Rain or shine the TGIS 5k Run/Walk will take place on Sunday May 21st!  In case of lightning, run will be delayed 30 minutes.  Fish Hatchery has plenty of shelter.  Registration is also the day of event.  T-shirts are still available.   

Schedule:

• Packet Pickup & Late Registration – 8:30 am to 9:15 am
• 1 Mile Fun Run – 9:00 am
• 5K Run/Walk Start – 9:30 am (5k will begin with runners at front of line and walkers in back). 

Packet pick-up:

Packet pick-up will be the day of event.  Please arrive 30 minutes early for pre-registered participants.  If you haven’t registered it's not too late.  Registration will take place the day of the event as well.  Please arrive 30-45 minutes before race to register.

Awards and Age Categories:  

• Top 3 Male and top 3 Female 5k finishers in each of the following age division:
• Categories: 9 & Under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60 & over
• Some of the awards include:  $10 car wash, LaCantina gift cards, Strand Theater, candy and Gazelle Sports t-shirts

Kids Fun Run: 
Children of all ages are invited to join us on May 21, 2017 for the one-mile Kids Fun Run. This is a non-competitive event welcomes parents and strollers. Parents need not register. All children registered by May 14, 2017 will receive a free t-shirt. T-shirts will also be available for purchase the day of the event while supplies last.  All children participating in the Kids Fun Run will receive a TGIS finishers ribbon and a balloon.    Inflatable will be available for entertainment for the kids.
