Minnesotans’ Military Appreciation Fund is proud to present its eleventh annual Say Thanks Day walk/run Saturday, September 12 at Base Camp near Fort Snelling. Runners can compete in a 5K or 10K run along the beautiful Fort Snelling State Trail and walkers will travel through Fort Snelling’s historic landmarks. After the walk or run, enjoy tandem jumps from the Patriot Parachute Team, sign a panel of the world’s largest thank you, test your skills on the climbing walls, enjoy the kid’s carnival, and listen to great live music as we say “Thanks” to Minnesota’s troops and their families. In conjunction with Say Thanks Day, MMAF will be hosting The Wall That Heals, a 250’ x 60’ replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. The exhibit includes a mobile education center comprised of photos of service members whose names are found on The Wall, letters and memorabilia left at The Wall in D.C., and a map and chronicle overview of the conflict in Vietnam.
