Dolphin Dash is a 5K walk/run benefiting the non-profit organization, Ric O'Barry's Dolphin Project. All proceeds go to the Dolphin Project, an organization working to end the annual dolphin hunt in Taiji, Japan, protecting both whales and dolphins, and the ocean environment. But Dolphin Dash does more than raise proceeds and awareness for a great cause, Dolphin Dash is organized and run by young women, encouraging young people, especially girls, to get involved in repairing the world. Together we make up GUFC, Girls United For a Cause. GUFC gives young girls hands on leadership experience through organizing and running a 5K, along with empowering them to stand up for a cause they believe in and create their own service projects. All the while, we volunteer for various programs throughout the Buffalo community. This April 1st, GUFC presents Dolphin Dash 2017 in Delaware Park. Everyone is welcome; boys and girls of all ages!! Together, we can all make a difference in protecting our environment and leaving our mark in history!
