FRIENDS is the only national volunteer non-profit organization dedicated solely to empowering young people who stutter and their families. Our mission is to provide support and education to people who stutter, their families, and clinicians. We believe that every child, teen, and adult deserves to live in a world where they are accepted and empowered.
FRIENDS presents regional one-day conferences around the country throughout the year and a national 3 day annual convention is held each July. The 22nd annual convention will be held in Chicago, July 18-20 this year. We not only serve young people and their families, but also provide invaluable education to Speech/Language Pathologists and graduate students and welcome adults who stutter into our community as volunteers. Be sure to visit our website to learn more about the amazing FRIENDS organization and all the good they are doing in for our friends!
This is our fourth annual 5K Walk/Run to raise money for FRIENDS. In three years we have raised almost $30,000 that has helped many families and students attend the annual convention and one-day conferences. We have sponsorship opportunities ranging from $50 to $500 and welcome in-kind donations; however, in-kind donations may only represent 50% of the total sponsorship level.
