June 6th, 2015 The Moon Tree Run & Firefighter’s Fair will be held at the Illinois Valley Airport, 4 miles south of Cave Junction, OR. The Moon Tree Run is a 5K and 10K road and trail race that commemorates the Apollo 14 command module pilot and Siskiyou Smokejumper, Stuart Roosa and the tree seeds he carried to the moon and back, one of which was eventually planted at the smokejumper base. This year we have added a scenic “Moon Walk” that features photos from the Apollo 14th Moon landing. The Firefighter’s Fair, will feature over 20 participating organizations with family friendly activities including exciting firefighting demonstrations, aircraft displays, and Local Celebrities Acting Silly. All-day Volunteer Firefighter’s Association breakfast starts at 8:00 and event ends at 2:00. FREE admission! For more information about this event, visit www.healthyucenter.org or call 541-592-4888
