Amy’s Run is a 5K run/1.5 mile walk, that was organized to celebrate the life and achievements of Amy Woodward.
Amy was one of my best friends, and there are few who knew Amy, that would not use that statement. To say Amy was a phenomenal person, would be an understatement. Amy fought extremely hard, her battle with breast cancer, but lost that battle in 2012 at the age of 51. Amy was an outstanding figure in West Chester EMS, as both a pre-hospital provider and an instructor at Good Fellowship Ambulance Company, and Goshen Fire Company, where she was also EMS Lieutenant.
To continue her legacy and passion for healthcare, The Keep it Rolling Foundation was created, which offers scholarships to prospective Paramedic and Nursing students to help defray the costs of their respective educational programs.
This 5K is a way to bring together those who knew and loved Amy, those whose lives have been affected by all cancers (not just Breast), and those who would like to join in, in celebrating Amy’s life. The race will be held during Amy’s birthday weekend in October every year. October is also Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Proceeds from the race will benefit the Keep It Rolling Foundation.
