Description
Charlie Denning was a dedicated supporter of girls basketball programs in the El Paso area. This scholarship honors him and his love of basketball by awarding eligible young women graduating from El Paso area high schools. These young women have a love for basketball and strive to perform to their best abilities in academics and community involvement.
Charlie was a Vietnam Vet, former DPS Trooper, mail carrier, and local businessman. He was known for his Texas-accented humor, his height, and genuine kindness. Sadly, Charlie lost his battle with cancer in 2003. This scholarship fund will continue his legacy of generosity and support of young women who dare to dream.
