Veterans Build Virtual 5k Fun Run/Walk

Virtual Run!  YAY!  We are hosting a VIRTUAL 5k Fun RUN, WALK, HOP, SKIP or JUMP! :)  Go out to your favorite place to run, and put in a 5k, (3.1 miles) to help the Greater Fredericksburg Habitat for Humanity Veterans Build raise money to build homes for local veteran families.

The Greater Fredericksburg Habitat for Humanity is working HARD to build homes for local veteran families in need. Members of the armed forces have done SO much for our country by signing a blank check to the military that says they will give everything - up to and including their lives for our country. Now, it is our turn to give back to them.

The goal of Greater Fredericksburg Habitat for Humanity’s Veterans Build program is to provide housing solutions and volunteer opportunities to veterans, service members, and their families. More than 1.5 million of these households spend more than 50% of their income on housing and nearly 1 million veterans who are homeowners are severely cost burdened, despite having access to VA loans and other special programs.

100% of the proceeds of this race will go directly to our Veterans Build project and make a HUGE impact on veteran families in need.  We plan on breaking ground on our first Veterans Build home on Veterans Day - November 11th, 2015!
