Hospice and Palliative Care of the Eastern Shore and Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge invite the public to join them on Saturday, October 10th at 8:00 A.M. for the 7th annual Circle of Life 3.2- mile run and 1-mile walk. The event takes place on the wildlife loop which is surrounded by nature and beautiful sights. It is a paved loop and flat terrain. This activity is being conducted to promote the importance of living well by connecting people with nature during National Wildlife Refuge Week. The inspiration for the walk/run came from a local island family that experienced Hospice care for a family member and wanted to show recognition of the Hospice professionals and volunteers for all they did for them and all they do for others. The race is designed to highlight the circle of life while elevating the significance of living well through each stage of life's journey. While Hospice honors life's final journey, it shares the message this event promotes, which is making the most of life, every moment of every day. The public is encouraged to come out and participate in the festivities during National Wildlife Refuge Week, the event provides an opportunity to celebrate not only the National Wildlife Refuge System during this special week, but also the connections we have to the land in order to promote wellness through being active and getting outdoors.
