Waterland 5k Fund Run, Walk, & Roll: A SeaFair Sanctioned Event as part of the Waterland Festival, July 17 – 19th, 2015 now in its 59th year.
Join the Des Moines Parks, Recreation, & Senior Services along with Destination Des Moines for our continuing tradition of a 5k Fund Run, Walk, & Roll during Waterland Festival on Saturday, July 18th, 2015. This non timed event offers a 5K Run, Walk, and Roll through the Des Moines Creek Trail that is fully accessible.
Proceeds raised will directly benefit Inclusive Recreation in the City of Des Moines.

We will race rain or shine.
8:15 - 8:45 Bib Pick up and DONATION DROP OFF at the Des Moines Founders Lodge.
9:00 5k Start
9:20 - 10:30 snacks, meeting new running friends
This is a non timed race with all proceeds benefiting inclusive recreation.
This will be a 5k out and back course. The course will primarily be on asphalt trails. It will be marked for turns as well as accurate markers.
Wheelchairs (manual and electric), handbikes, and strollers are allowed on the course. The course is out and back, so just remember to stay to the right! Bicycles, skateboards, rollerskates/blades, and scooters are not allowed unless approved by race coordinator.
Dogs are welcome!! Please make sure that your well behaved dog is on a leash no longer than 6' at all times.
We could use a few people to help out for a bit during the run, so if you have a friend who doesn't want to run, but could be at the event with the race team from 7:30 AM to 10 AM, have them to contact Rick @ rscott@desmoineswa.gov!

Everyone is a winner in this inclusive recreational run. This is a low key race, but the money raised from this event will help provide future incusive recreatioanl activities. Your bib number will not be used to identify you for timing purposes, but rather to remind you of the support you have given to help provide inclusive recreational programing!
