We listened to your feedback, and we have a NEW duathlon run route for 2023! This shorter, 4.67 mile route, is more beginner friendly in distance and terrain. We have been told for years that, "I would have loved to do the duathlon but the run is too hard." Well, if that was you, then this year is your time to sign up! This route travels around the tailings pond at Wazee for a beautiful trail run through the park.
Note: The 4.6 mile running portion of this race is on a non-paved trail. The 10.3 mile bike course will be on paved roads.
*Participants can register individually or as a two-person team (please register together if participating as a team).
*A bike helmet is REQUIRED during the biking portion of the race.
*For your safety, no earbuds/music will be allowed during the biking portion of the race.
*Finisher's medal for all individuals who complete the duathlon (including team).
*Participants can select to purchase a t-shirt when registered by April 23, 2023.
*Any age welcome to participate!
*FREE for participants age 12 and under! Only $10 for participants age 13 and up.
*Get ready to be sprinkled in color with the 5K Color Fun Run/Walk!
*Please note -- participants have the option of bypassing the color stations if they wish to stay color-free.
*Course is fully-paved and stroller-friendly. No pets please.
*No awards will be given. Self-timed, fun event.

*Youth race participants receive a finisher's medal and sunglasses with registration. Participants have the option of purchasing a Pace and Pedal t-shirt when registering for the event, but can gladly wear a shirt from home instead.
*Complete your Pace and Pedal 5K anywhere, anytime. Race packets will be placed out during race week.
*$10 for ages 13 and up. Your virtual race packet will include a race bib and colored powder packets, as well as any purchased items.
*FREE for youth ages 12 and under. Youth race packets will include a race bib, colored powder packets, finisher's medal and giveaway item.
Packet Pickup - 3pm - 5pm at Jackson County Health and Human Services - 421 County Rd R, Black River Falls
6:30am-8:15am - Packet Pickup at Lake Wazee
6:30am-8:15am - Same Day Registration (Duathlon registration closes at 7:15am)
8:00am - Pace and Pedal Duathlon Start
8:30am - 5K Color Fun Run/Walk Start
10:00am - Youth Color Run Start
INCLEMENT WEATHER: Race officials may cancel, delay, or change the race in case of severe weather or other conditions. In the event of cancellation, no refunds will be issued. All events will take place rain or shine. If lightning occurs, times will be backed up in 1/2 hour increments, with cancellation after 2 hours.

Wazee Lake Recreation Area is located approximately 15 minutes east of Black River Falls. Please allow enough time for travel when planning your departure time. Registration and packet pick-up will close at 7:30 a.m. for duathlon participants to allow the race to start on time.
