We are very excited about Jake's Surgery scheduled for this August in St Louis, the procedure is a Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy & Dr Park in St Louis is a world renowned expert.
After researching many different methods of adressing CP developed and practiced all over the world, this is hands-down the right answer for Jake.
The surgery is Just over a month away and will cost just under $3000 after insurance plus the travel & hotel expenses. SDR is a spinal surgery and requires intensive physical therapy for a full year afterwards, it requires hard work & dedication that we are prepared to provide. Dr Park requires that the family be able & willing to provide Physical Therapy 4-5 times per week for the first 12 months after surgery with 2 return visits to St Louis during that time. It won't be easy, but it WILL be life altering for Jake.
We are convinced that this is the direction we need to go with Jake's development to give him the best future possible.
